Estes-Winn Antique Car Museum

If you haven't already been to the Estes-Winn Antique Car Museum, then do it! This small, rustic museum located at 111 Grovewood Rd, Asheville, NC 28804 is home to several rare and running-condition vintage cars, as well as a moonshine still! The museum's unique layout includes a tucked-away patio and a beautifully landscaped lawn. There's even a small museum store that sells local products, like bourbon.

Visitors will be amazed by the variety of vintage and antique cars on display at the Estes-Winn Antique Automobile Museum. The museum is housed in a historic building that was once the home of Asheville's Biltmore Industries. You'll also find Roycroft chandeliers from 1918, as well as an authentic moonshine still. The museum is open year-round, from April to December, from 10:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

If you're traveling with children, don't miss the Estes-Winn Antique Automobile Museum. It is the only antique car museum in the city. The museum displays some incredible vintage vehicles, including a rare 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham. There's also a 1922 fire truck. The Grove Park Inn is adjacent to the museum. This historic building opened on July 12, 1913, and it was originally intended to cure wealthy visitors of illness. Famous authors such as F. Scott Fitzgerald have stayed at the Inn, and F. Scott Fitzgerald was a frequent guest during his stay here while his wife, Zelda, was at Highland Hospital.

Another unique feature of the Estes-Winn Antique Car Museum is its location. Located downtown, it's a great place to spend an afternoon. Best visited during the months of April and August, the garden's many plants will be in bloom. Also, don't forget to stop at the Thomas Wolfe Memorial, a historic building where the poet lived part of his life. This was the location of his novel "Look Homeward, Angel."

If you're looking for more entertainment, check out the Craftsmen's Guild in Asheville. They have specialty clocks, furniture, and more. There's also a fire truck and an old boot legging. Make sure to check out the enormous chandeliers that were once hanging in the stone castle of Fred Seely. They're almost 100 years old, and inscribed with Shakespearean quotes!
